Join Lindsay Lowe for a 2 day course in traditional mohair, fully jointed teddy bear crafting. About this event Spend two days mindfully crafting your own unique bear through hand sewing. We will provide you with everything that you need to craft one of the three beautiful bears shown. (You will be asked at booking, which bear you would like to make. Please note that places are limited as is the availability of the three mohairs on offer, so places and colour choices will be allocated on a first come first serve basis). You will learn how to work with German mohair, how to craft and trim the muzzle, set the glass eyes and joint the head and limbs using traditional cotterpin joints and techniques. Choose where you place features like eyes and ears to change the expression and character of your bear. Each bear measures approximately 14 ins in the standing position (11 ins when seated) Day one will begin at 9.30am and finish at 4.00pm. Day two will begin at 10.00am and finish around 3.00pm. There will be a break for lunch each day where you can choose to purchase lunch from The Craft House Cafe on site or bring a packed lunch. By the end of the two days you will have a beautiful bear to take home and cherish as well as the knowledge and skills to continue to explore and enjoy this lovely craft. IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: Due to the traditional nature of the components used to make these bears, they are collectors items, they are not toys and must not be given to young children.
